last week my '04 discovery had the service engine soon light pop on. brought it to the dealer to check it out (still under warranty). they checked the gas cap and found it not sealing tightly. after replacing it, they pressure checked the system and found a leak detection pump was leaking and replaced it too. After a quick road test they declared all was good and sent me on my way.
Friday, the light popped on again. So, we're back at the dealer today to keep figuring this one out. ![]() Oh well, rover is paying for it and for the loaner car. I'll report back once I hear more and know more about whats causing this one.

will do. I should have the car back from them tomorrow with more information then. FWIW, my light only took about 30 miles to re-appear.

update - the fixes before apparently fixed the P0455 code. the current check engine light is being caused by a P1000 unknown code. the dealer talked to land rover corporate who suggested an ECU re-flash. they have done this and are doing an extended drive test to be sure it doesnt recur. I should get the car back tomorrow. looks like one more day in the loaner.

Hi,
![]() I checked my codes last night. The only one that came up was P0455. The gas cap seems fine:wave. Can anyone advise how to test it? Also I would like to know where the "leak detection pump" is and how to test it. Thanks. |
