Future Problems - Land Rovers Only

Newbie To This Forum, Newbie To Rover Lifestyle, Am Going To Be
Purchasing 01' Disco Ii Se ; 46,000. From Father In -law
Is In Mint Condition,however The Tranny Pan Had To Be Replaced
Due To Leaks And Pan Warpage,the Driver Seat Has Been Replaced
Due Squeakiness,and The Back Window Has Been Replaced Due To Leakage. Now All These Were Done Withn Warranty Period.has Anybody Had These Issues On Their 01'disco Ii. The Thing Has Never
Off-road. This Will Be My First Rover And Can't Wait.
Oneday Would Like To Get 16" Wheels Instead Of 18" Package.
It Does Need Front Brakepads And Am Guessing Rotors Also@
46,000.plan To Off Road Slightly Untill I Get Better
Whell/tire Combo. So What Are Some The Problems That I Will
See With This Disco That Are Common.any Feedback Will Greatly

Welcome to the group.
Beware of bad Rover Karma, don't worry about what may happen for it will.
Rovers like to leak a little oil.
Nothing really wrong with a 01. At some point it will be good to looka and see if you have a CDL connection, but you haven't even got off the road yet so that comes later.
Has it had the dealers 45K service, was the serpentine belt changed, if not make sure it is taken care of.
Don'r worry about what was done in the past under warranty cause what ever short comings a Rover may have, it makes up for it in it's ability to make you happy.

Hey congrats! Sounds like a good rover.

Problems I am facing right now include (most likely) an ABS sensor failure, and ive got an oil pressure warning light on.

If you need to buy new brakes and rotors there are two mainstream aftermarket companies....DBA and EBC.

you can get DBA here; http://www.expeditionexchange.com/dba/
they are the "rolls-royce" of rotors....and there is EBC (post and someone will tell you were the best deal is right now) which have the cheaper (but good) rotors and kevlar brake pads.

DBA rotors are really nice- just be sure to run kevlar pads on them. The stock pads don't last long on them. They make a strange 'whirring' sound too- but you probably won't hear it unless you are listening for it... it kinda bothered me on my Freelander at first but you get used to it. I run solid OEM ones on my DII because it sees a lot of mud- one thing I noticed on the Freelander was that the slots and holes would get packed with hard mud- sometimes with little tiny rocks and stuff.
The next major outlay of $ is about 60K or so provided nothing breaks. Rovers aren't as expensive to fix and maintain as people think- just shop carefully, find a great Rover specialist shop (but not a dealer).

ive got regular LR genuine pads with my DBAs...I have to admit they squeel but I was weary to use anything else with them. To many people saying...."kevar good, stock bad....no get ceramic....no! ceramic will damage"....etc. etc.

Josh,
When your stock pads wear out, and if they lasted like mine did on my DBA's, it will be sooner then later, do try the Kevlar pads, they stop even faster with less dust.
