Default Girlfriend Started Truck with it Floored

My girlfriend drives a clutch. I let her drive my truck. She got in and, in her confused and pregnant state, proceeded to push the gas to the floor prior to starting it like she would do with a clutch. Then started it with it floored. I'd say it was floored for about 3 seconds before I realized her foot was on the gas.

This is a 2004 Discovery with 50K miles. I'm wondering if there's anything I should do. No, she's carrying my child so I can't break up with her ...

Also wondering if it's likely there's any permanent damage.

an 04 should have a rev limiter and it's unlikely that the engine management allowed anything to bad to happen. I would however recommend never letting her start your rover again

Give her a good spanking, send her to bed earily and let her walk for a couple of days, she will remember next time.
As already mention, the rev limiter save it this time.

No harm will have been done,if you have never delierately tried to blow an engine by leaving a brick on the throttle you will know what I mean !
Done several over the years, you would be amazed how long they go before they usually seize.Even feeding extra oxygen and propane from the gas axe they still hang on.
