Default Glad to be back

Hey friends I am so glad to be back on the forum. I was fairly new when I began posting a while ago and since then I have had my first child, a boy. That is not all that took place though. I also had some Disco problems. I bought my 2000 Disco used about 4 months ago and about 3 weeks ago my engine light lit up. I took it autozone and I had misfires every where. I pulled the plugs and wires and replaced them with bosch platinums and original wires from car quest. The Disco was awesom and the check engine lights went out. The next week it comes back on showing P305 misfire, cylinder five. This would stay lit about 3 days and go out. Now its on and won't go out. Whats wrong here. Could it be coil pack? I have also heard that a valve could be sticking. I don't know. I need some help please. I thinking about flushing with motor with auto trans fluid and some cheap oil. I think I read this some time back since it was posted by discomike. Help me guys. I love my truck and it is my dream truck. Wife is saying trade it.

this might be a bit frank, but man, i remember you haha. not really sure what to say about this, but by what your post says about the code P305, being a misfire on cylinder 5... how does it drive? if you had sticky valves you could probably tell. im sure this thread will yield some actual advice. good luck

I would go back and look at the wires again, maybe one of them got messed up when you changed them out. I had the same problem with my old Jetta, or maybe it is because you are using OEM wires that can not handle the power of the new spark plugs. I know most guys will put in larger gage wires when the are using the platinum plugs

Default New Baby Boy

Since I am no expert on mechanics I will not make any comment beyond the above.

However, I would like to say Congratulation in regard to having a new baby boy.

“When you treat your child as he is he will remain as he is.
If you treat your child for what he could be, he will become what he could be.”

Rovin, thanks alot I am new to Disco and I hate to see my truck sit. But when I pulled the #5 plug it was dirty so I just cleaned it. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and order the coil. I would do it myself but man, thats alot of work. Changing the plugs and wires nearly drove me crazy. Do, I have to worry about the coil going out if I drive it ?
