Default Glove box rattle

I have noticed for a while that my glove box rattles when driving and it is getting worse and making me crazy. The latch does not seem to quite work like it originally did.

Any suggestions? a new latch assembly or can the old one be rebuilt. Also should there be a seal of some sort that is missing or just loose because of the latch assembly. I have looked through the workshop manual and can not find anything about it anywhere.

Thanks,

Texasbear

You may be missing a screw (not you, yourself! ) somewhere in one of the hinges... Pop open the door and poke around the hinges... If one is gone, replace it... Just use one of the other screws to match it up at Home Depot or Lowe's... If the hole is too large for that size screw, go up a size...

Mine rattled like crazy so I got pc of black foam and put a little block on the inside lip of the glovebox with some two-sided tape and have been rattle free.

Well, jmrivera was right, I am missing a screw, and I guess it is in my head. It never occurred to me that there might be a screw on the back of the push button assembly. I guess I thought it just snapped in. Anyway, I fixed the rattle. The small screw holding in the assembly was loose. Maybe I should start consulting with you instead of my shrink. It sure is a hell of a lot cheaper.

Thanks for the info,
