First of all, I'm pretty impressed with the guys at RTE. I ordered this stuff yesterday morning and it arrived here this afternoon. Quick! Steve at RTE said the OME's will be here tomorrow or the next day, so I'll be throwing this kit on the G4 Friday along with new BFG 265/75/16 AT's.

I just replaced my SLS bags cause they started to leak. You will miss the features of SLS once you get on the trail. Good luck with the new springs, RTE and Steve are great. Mike |

Enjoy the lift! It'll make a huge difference having that clearance.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but in that pic... Don't those look like DII spring seats instead of DI? If so, your rear end will be 1/2-1in lower than the front without a bumper/winch. |

G4 is a D2? I did not know that. With the RTE springs, if you DON'T use D1 spring seats on your D2, your rear end will be 1/2in lower than the front. |

Gotta agree with Disco Mike. When it comes to overall all around service (on and off road), the rear air bags do the job for me.
NOW, THAT SAID, the answer always depends on what you will primarily use your rig for. For my 80% highway/20% off road usage, I have the 2 in RTE lift with rear air bag spacers and sensor relocators. When wheeling, the extra four inch height adjustment in the rear helps get the "big butt" of by 99 D2 over most stuff. When towing or hauling, the self leveling is great. Not only does your rig look whacky with rear end down 3-4 inches during a tow/haul, it is actually not as safe since you are disrupting the center of gravity. The airbags are super smooth on the highway and so far, very durable on the trail. I am pretty rough on mine and still have the factory originals. All of this said, the rear airbags suit my needs with a modest 2 in. rte lift for my 80% highway/20% offroad usage. However, if you "need" a lot of lift (over 2 inches) and a ton of articulation, the rear coils probably will benefit you most. Good luck with either application. Quote:
