Its in your manual, but the short version is. Remove the three plastic screws at the top of the grill. Remove the retainers that they go into, a flathead screwdriver will help to pry them up,fingernails work good too. Remove the grill, it lifts up and out. There are two screws on the top of the headlight assembly, remove them and one on the inside covered by a plastic flap, remove it. The pull out the assembly disconnect the harness, locate your bulb on the front and remove the corresponding cap on the back. That will give you access to the bulb, unplug it, unclip the metal retainer then remove and replace. Reverse the directions to put it back in.

I have a question about the "multi-plug connector" ('00 LRD2).
I haven't changed a bulb in years. I'm a handy guy, but I usually don't "fool" with cars. Any hoo, had the car for less than a month (dealer is 50+ miles away), I noticed the passenger headlight is "dim" (not out) and the pass. fog light is out. So, i'd figure i'd replace them myself, just want to see what kind of bulb it is using so i can buy/order a new one. i now have a manual and followed instructions inside, here's my question: - after unscrewing the 3 screws etc. and pulling out the light, the manual says to "pull out" the multi-plug connector AND rubber housing. How do I pull out the connector? I tugged on that thing with some strength and it didn't budge. I didn't want to go crazy for fear of breaking it. So that is as far as i got. I opened it and found 3 wires connecting it, but didn't want to mess with that either. is it just a matter of giving it a stronger tug or am i dummy missing something obvious? hopefully the fog lights will be easier. (doubt it) I'll check that out tonight. although last night i noticed both fog lights didn't come on. figures. any chance this could be fuse related? what kind of probe is recommended for testing the electricity (if needed)? |
