What year?
I have an '00 and its fairly easy. You litteraly pull the headlight assembly and it pops out (has a ball joint made of plastic, be careful not to break it). Once you pop the assembly out, it's easy from there. I believe you have to remove some of the plastic from the top to help get at the assembly, but overall very simple.

Took about 10 minutes to change an '04. Had to take the front grill off, then the headlight assembly. 6 screws in all. Once off, swapping the bulb was simple. The grill was the only trick, because once it's unscrewed, it lifts kind of straight up about 2 inches before the bottom stems clear their fitting.

That would really require some wiring changes, I think he is just wanting to replace a burned out bulb.
When replacing a burned bulb, it is wise to replace them both so they will be of the same color and brightness. Mike |

its not that I don't know how to change a headlight, I can figure that out. I was wondering if it could be something else that caused the headlight to go out? The bulb looks fine to me, thats why I ask... Could weather be a factor in it? the last week we have a some cold and bad weather here in wisconsin and the rover seems to be very tempermental about it, hates the cold, wipers and turn signals are acting very slow until she warms up. That is why I ask. if it could be more than a burned out bulb!

Maybe the circuit inside headlight assembly is bad, you could try swapping the left side headlight assembly with the right side temporarily to see if this is the case. This would involve removing both assemblies and plugging the drivers side light into the passenger side electrical plug. I don't know if they're the same plug or not, but it may be worth a try.
