Default Heated windscreen not working right

I have a 01 Disco 2. While we have had a mild winter in NJ, I have had a problem where only the passengers side of the heated windscreen is working. The drivers side does not work. I have checked the fuses and they are both ok. I do have a stone ding on the drivers side windsheild, but it does not seem to have pentrated the glass or broken the element (I could be wrong). Anyone have any experience with this problem? The air defroster eventually de-ices the screen, but the heating element works so fast. Are there any relays or connections I should be looking at?

This is my guess for the day.
You either broke a element wire on the drivers side or your windshild may have 2 electrical leads, one to each side, and maybe one has come loose.
Call a local windshiled shop and ask them about the leads and your problem, they deal with this sort of problem all the time.
Good luck,
Mike J.

There is two leads going to the windshield for the heated elements, one on each side. Pop the hood to find them, kind of hard to describe where they are, but they lead to the outer bottom corners of the windshield... They're in fairly plain site. I'd say that if they're hooked together, and they most likely are, hard for me to think of a reason why they'd come apart... it's probably that stone you took to the drivers side screwing things up....

If you have full glass on your insurance policy, i'd replace it, thats what i did last year after i got a stone and it stopped working. My rates didn't go up or anything... Just be sure you ask for original equipment glass, and a full replacement and not just a repair.
