Call 2 or 3 glass shops and take the guessing out of it. It will be well less then the dealer but I bet you are still going to be at $450 plus installed.
If you don't use your window heaters much, you can always save money and install a standard winsdshield without the heating unit. Mike J. |

Mine was $640 installed. Dealer supplies the glass, but they call in a glass company to install it (every dealer I know subs out glass work). There aren't any generic replacement heated windshields available.

You can get it done for less, having the glass shop order after market glass. Look at it this way, the bugs will never know if it was factory glass or after market when they get splattered.

There isn't an aftermarket glass for the DII... it's all Pilkington.

scratched glass, no way. I wouldnt take it.
they aint gonna take you down much anyway. they will then get you on th labor. Listen the dealers dont make money on the glass. Ok parts but thats different. The dealers dont get a kickback from the glass company. In fact its the opposite. we let them come to us and allow them to replace glass inside so they dont have to bring the vehicle to their shop. they make more money that way. Dealers regardless of brand do the same thing. In fact dealerships have a whole list of subcontractors they use to fix anything from bent rims and body panels to ripped leather. |
