Default Help! My car is dying! . . . .

I have a '01 Discovery SE. I've had very little trouble with this car.

May 4 - After a drive from west Texas, my car over heats; coolant tank is dry. Rover runs a pressure check which showed no leaks, so they replaced the thermostat.

July 5 - After a drive to Houston, my car over heats; coolant tank is dry. Rover runs a pressure check which showed no leaks and put 14 miles on the car. Their theory was an air bubble in the line that pushed through and caused the coolant level to drop. With a full coolant tank, I made it back to Dallas just fine.... or so I thought.

July 25 - After normal around town driving, guess what, my car overheats;coolant tank is dry. I know the drill well by now.... pressure check-clear, 40 miles put on the car-clear, block test - clear, two foremen and two master mechanics are at a loss.

Does anyone have a clue to what could be going on? I have no option but to drive this car so currently I'm checking the coolant level every morning and have a gallon of it in the back of the car "just in case".

Was the system bled of any air? Could you hear "sloshing" in the passenger side fascia?

Did they check your fan clutch?

Do you smell anything different?

Are these Rover Mechanics?

If they pressure tested the block 2-3 times with no leaks I doubt it's a blown HG....

If they wern't Rover Mechs. and didn't know the right pressure it's possible though...
