When I first start up my truck, every 11 seconds (I counted, haha) I hear a hiss. I sounds like its coming from the bottom of the truck, on the right side.. I just can't pinpoint it!
When I put it in drive and start driving, the hissing stops.. If I stop the truck, you still don't hear it.. What could it be?? Thanks!! John-Robert

Sre you sure you are not hearing the SLS pump? Try starting your truck leaving the drivers door open, do you still hear it, if not you ar hearing your pump leveling out your truck.

If it is coming on only when you start up the truck it is possibly the secondary air injection (SAI) pump. It runs for a short period only after start up to help alleviate poor emissions. The SAI is easy to trace on the '03; the silver pipes along the back of the engine (which prevent you from changing your spark plug wires) carry the air to the exhaust manifold. With the hood open, have someone start the car and it should be pretty easy to pinpoint if there is a leak in the system.
