Hurts to admit, but it works !

Guys, I don't know about the States, but up here in Canada, everybody's premium fuel is 91 octane. shell use to have 94 and for some reason it disapeared. And it did before I ever had a chance to use it.

So for the heck of it, I decided to buy an octane booster. The make is Pennzoil and it came as a 4 bottle pack and was on special, and I said what the heck! Each pack is said to treat 75 liters of fuel, and although our Rovers have 90 liters, or is it 95....I decided that 1 bottle per fill up would be good enough.

I was expecting absolutely no change and was saying to myself that I would at least have tried it.

Dammm! It took about 20 miles ( probably because unmixed gas was in the lines, Idonno ), but geez, the throttle sudenly became much more responsive ( well, I say that litely cause as you know, they're not fast vehicles by any means), the engine actually sounded better and the best part, the annoying little ticking went away!!!! I had fixed the big ticking by changing the y-pipe gaskets, but a faint ticking was still there and it sounded like I needed a valve job.

So, I guess that on top of the premium, I'll have to spend even more for this additive. Now, if only my M.P.G would improve at least to the point of this stuff paying for itself......It'd be great.
