Angry I am pissed Land Rover did it again!!

I am pissed; I got screwed by the stealership and the extended warranty people again

Here it goes…

I noticed a couple of drops of fluid at the ACE block under the passenger side, not much just a couple drops. So I figure the truck needs an oil change and with extended warranty for another year or 100K miles why not to bring it in for service. (One thing I don’t was to mess with is the ACE system). So I called the dealer and they say to bring it in. I got a loaner and the day after I got a call saying that the ACE block was leaking and it needed to be replaced and it will take a couple days. I said fine let me wait I got nothing planned for the next two weeks.

Week and half goes by and got another call saying that is not the block but the lines that are leaking and need to wait for the inspector to come by and approve the parts. I said “great the dealer is doing the right thing and I will get a new block and lines as well. Guess what? After ten days I got another call saying that the extended warranty people declined the parts because the leak was caused by corroded lines and according to the contract anything that is corroded is not covered. (I never heard of it)

I called the extended warranty people and the lady on the phone very firmly confirmed that they will not pay. End of story. I could not believe that after all the money I paid for the extended warranty I am not covered for such an important system. I tried to talk to the dealer but they also said that could not help me. Now if the engine or tranny fails they can easily say it is due “corrosion” This is very disappointing and unacceptable that someone with all good intensions gets screwed like this, I never gave them a hard time or a bad review of any kind. At the end I told them to put my truck back together and I will bring it to some else. What is even more upsetting is that they even charged me for the diagnostic of something that was not fixed or approved even worst after the took it apart the leak is now serious, I have no choice but to have my LR guy order the parts and wait a couple days. I now had to pay the dealer and pay my guy when he is done.

Sorry to vent off with you all but I am sure the LR community will understand my frustration.

Thanks All

So have you pulled out your warranty and read it all the way thru? Is the corrision mentioned?
Two months ago, I beat my extended warranty up so bad that after 2 weeks of letters going back and forth, they sent me a check for $3120, the originial amount I paid and canceled my warranty. That was fine with me cause I only had about 8,000 miles left on the policy and they had already coughed up $3100 for repairs on my truck 2 years ago.
Read up on your policy and then start working on them, don't just roll over.

I read my contract again and under the "What is not covered" section it says
"Mechanical breakdown or failure: of a covered part which is damaged by fuel or lubricant contamination, rust or corrosion"

I am screwed...

ChuckD, I have the original LR Assured extended warranty
