I did a search, but couldn't find the information I need.
I'm planning on purchasing 7100 shocks for my DII. Since the Bilstein shock ends are 1/2" heims, how do you adapt them to the12mm(?) mount bolts? I'm aware that Bilstein makes a lower front cross-bar adapter for the front shocks, but clueless about the rest. Also, are spacers needed to keep the heims from sliding back and forth? Do I need to purchase shock boots too, or just leave the rods exposed? Thanks ![]()

I just received my 7100's from e shocks(Paul)
and worked on the rear end yesterday. Bilstien provides a step down spacer to 12mm but you will still need the regular spacers that come with the shocks. I spoke to Steve at RTE and he makes a special step down spacer just for the D2 . You can buy pass all this and go with poly bushings. I am running the 12" short bodies in the rear and the 10" short bodies in the front with the RTE 2" lift. I also installed the RTE watts linkage and no sway bar to make the most of the 7100's travel. Up front I have disconnects. What lift are you running? |

That sounds like the ticket, thanks!
I've just upgraded my OME spring set-up to 751s in the front, 763s and 1" spacers in the rear to net a 3" lift (watts linkage upgrade in the future). The OME shocks are too short and topping out on big bumps. I was planning on the exact same set-up you have, valved at 400/100. I'm planning on purchasing at eshocks as well. What did you use for the front cross-bar, Bilstein or RTE?

It is the bilstien crossbar. It is not as plug and play as the RTE but you don't have issues with shock travel, but if your running the 10" short body you should be okay. RTE is making a rear shock mount that brings the mounting point up a couple of inches if you want to stick with the OME n108's. If you want full flex the Bilstein is the set up.
Do you get to wheel up in Big Bear? We are headed up this weekend. I want to check out Gold Mtn. ![]() |

Thanks for the info.
Yes I've wheeled all over Gold Mt, Holcomb Valley, Crab Flats and Deep Creek. Lots of fun! I haven't braved John Bull yet, waiting on 33" tires ![]()
