Talking Just bought an '04 Disco SE...

Hey all.. I just bought my wife an '04 Discovery SE last night and wanted to say hi! We got it used with 14k on it... perfect condition (not a scratch or mark in the interior) for around 30k. Not a bad deal. It's silver with the tan interior. I'm looking forward to having some fun with it on the beaches down here in southern NC! Is there anything I should know as far as caring for it, problems that come up, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys!

Not a bad deal at all Very nice! Welcome to LRO You'll like it here.

I've had no problems with our 2000 DII, aside from the dash constantly lighting up like a christmas tree As long as you got an extended warranty with it should should be in good shape. All my problems have been covered.

I'd love to see some pics of her when you get a chance

Your Rover that is

Can you get an extended warranty through Land Rover? I just have the factory warranty now (5 years / 50k ). Thanks, I'll post some pics later when I get a chance.

Welcome to the LR family.

I'm guessing you bought it Certified Pre-Owned from LR? You can get their extended warranty, the sooner you buy it i think the cheaper it is.

I actually traded in a Honda Accord for it at the local Honda dealership.. I guess whoever bought it originally was tired of paying the high gas prices. I have the factory warranty.. can I still buy the extended warranty from the local dealership?

Nice! If this is your first LR, just remember its not a honda accord. Its a very unique vehicle that can be high mantainence.. but youll have a hell of a good time with it.

Yeah you should be able to, not sure if there is different pricing or not. Give them a call, they usually have an extended warranty specialist.

The warranties in different countries must be different. I recently bought a 2002 Disco SE7 with 56k on it. The factory warranty is 4 years and 80k. I bought the extended warranty (6 year 120k). I paid 30k plus 7% tax and another 3k +/- so about 35k or so. (all in Canadian dollars)

I'm use to the maintainence on european cars.. I still have a '96 Audi A6 that I've had for the last 8 years.. that puppy definately made more than a few trips to the dealer Anyways.. thanks for the welcom and for all the help.

Here are some pics I snapped tonight after work. I'll take some better ones a little later when I get some time.

Welcome to the fam!

Get that account ready, so that when the Mod-Bug hits you, you'll be prepared. If you dont think it will, this is comming from the person who LOVES vehicles in their stock form! It's hit me HARD!

I'm the same way it drives my wife nuts! She has a Volo S80 that she won't let me touch... Well not yet anyway She needs tires so I'm looking into 18" factory Volvo or Jaguar replacements heheehe... She keeps telling me to mess with my car, not hers.. She'll see how much nicer it will look..

My wife is the same way, I am not aloud to touch her Accord. I can drive it but she gets mad when I talk about doing any type of mods.

Wow, I must be lucky... my wife said I can do whatever I want to her truck.. I think it's just because it's hers Before, when I wanted to mod my car.. she'd give me shit for it b/c it was mine and she got the shaft with the crappy car. So it's funny how the tables have turned huh? I think I'm gonna be pretty tame with the truck at first. Maybe upgrade the wheels & tires to some 20" rover ones.. and get some darker tint, other than that.. the sky's the limit.. I don't have that many ideas for it yet. But time will tell, I'm sure I can come up with something Thanks for the help guys!
