I've noticed that a lot of you guys are using the 3001 long filters, which have a higher capacity. When you use the higher capacity filter do you put an additional amount of oil in the engine?..?

Yes you will need a small amount of additional oil...i think it's less than half a quart......change the oil like you would normaly, add your regular amount of oil that you would with the stock filter, run engine, check level and top up as needed. Just make sure to put some oil in the filter before installing it as it is a large volume filter so i will take to much time to fill if you start with it dry...possibly causing some engine damadge...

I fill it about 1/2 full....depends how much of an angle you need to put the filter on....on my Disco2 it's almost on it's side so anymore will come out when putting it on the engine....on my 66 Barracuda the filter goes straight up and down so i can fill it full.....hope this answers your question...
