Default Knocking sound!

Good afternoon! I have a question for the expert out there My wife 02 Dico is making a knocking noise. Does anyone know what may cause this problem? FYI! We only use 93 octane and I do the oil change myself using the manufacture filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When do you hear the knocking sound, hot, cold, when first starting?
I would not continue to drive it without having a mechanic look at it.
How many miles on the engine, how often do you do oil changes?
It would be a good idea to have a mechanic check your oil pressure, at idle as well as at 2000 RPM's, both when cold and at operating temp.

Thanks Mike for replying! Actually, 10, 15 min. after starting the truck you start hearing the knocking noise. The engine has 75,000 miles on it. I do oil change every 3,000 miles. You mention "oil pressure" do you know how I can check that myself?

Is your oil light coming on at all? Do you see it light up when you start your engine, this should ensure that you bulb is good.

Relax Fellas! I am sorry for not going into details Basically, I heard a knocking noise from my 02 Disco engine and Mike advised me to flush the engine, which I did. Now, the noise is almost gone.
