Lazy door locks??? - Land Rovers Only

Anyone have trouble with one or two of the door locks opening slower than the others??? Drivers is slower than the rest, always fully releases but the right rear door doesnot unlock fully all the time...must hit lock actuator a second time....cures??? causes????

I have had the same pronlem with my l/r door, been doing it for over a year. I did remove the door panel and checked to make sure it wasn't rubbing on something, found nothing wrong and have just lived with it.

Hi Mike,

O/K then, at least i know it's common.....more than likely the actuator itself then....i can live with it as well....but if there was a quick fix i figured what the heck.....

I've ben having the same problem with mine almost since day one. What I did and did got better is taking the door panel out and lubing the mechanism with silicone spray, also spraying it a bit on the door catch. It's much better now, but it sticks from time to time, it always is the same one, the passenger's side rear lock.

Have the same problem on mine since I bought it. My lazy door is the driver side front door. When it was under warranty I had the LR guys look at it and they did something that helped it for a day or two but then it was back to the same tricks.

Along those same lines though is how limited the distance is on my remote ... I have to be within ten feet, sometimes closer before the doors unlock. But like previous posters noted, I have learned to live with it.

Try turning the key around.

The metal piece that goes into the ignition switch does not act like an antenna.

I have also heard that putting it to you chin helps extend the range too.

If you put it to your chin you will get more range....and change the battery if you haven't done so in a long time.....

Ya i'm livin with it....just thought a little spray here or there might fix it....i'm just getting picky i guess.....lol...
