Default Leaking roof or something

Looks like it's warranty time again and another 360 mile round trip to the dealership

Sat waiting for the wife this afternoon in another ice storm / snow shower and looked up at the roof liner around the top of the windscreen pillar on the driver's side. The whole thing was saturated 1/2 way to the rear view mirror and back to the grab handle above the driver's head. It's never done this before in worse weather and there's no signs of damage on the outside of the vehicle.

Anybody experienced anything similar to this in the past?

Bit of a blow as I'm having the roof repaired on Monday after damage caused by the last ice storm - they're not related however as they're different areas and it's rained since then as well. I do have an aftermarket sunroof, could water spread that far from the sunroof?

Jason.

With that aftermarket sun roof, you may be dead in the water. If the dealer feels it is aftermarket related, he won't touch it. I would suggest going back to the shop that installed your sun roof and have them check it out, especially the drain tubes.

My worries exactly. I have no idea who fitted the roof as it was already fitted when I bought the car. I didn't know too much about LR specs when I bought it so had no idea it was aftermarket. I really hope it's not the roof. I'll try to check the drain holes when it brightens up a bit.

Thanks Mike.

Default Leaking roof!!

I had the same problem mine is a 00, so no warranty. I had the headliner replaced and they found the drain hoses dry-rotted.(Florida Sun) Did you have this problem before or after the sunroof was installed? Ck all the drain hoses that hook to the sunroof frame, also if they get clogged with leaves the water will leak to the inside. good luck!!

We've had the car since December and no problems in much worse rain. The sunroof was fitted before we got the vehicle and there are no stains inside to suggest any leaking. I'm going to take a look inside the sunroof now and pour some water around to see where it goes. I remember seeing on here a description of where it should appear so I'll search through the archives.

Thanks for the info.
