Default Leaky Rear diff.

I know it may be caused by the breather tube, but where does the tube end? What product do you suggest for replacing the grease and finally should I just rplace the gasket or look any deeper?

Thanks

Where is it leaking from? The cover? The Pinion seal?

It's leaking from the bottom of the cover.

Are you talking about a drippin leak or is it just damp and collecting dust? Is it coming from the pinion seal and blow back under the diff housing or ir it the seal that goes around the third member, the large round housing with all the bolts?
As for the fluid, use synthetic 80/90W gear oil which should be changed every 30,000 miles.

Opps.... Stand by, I got myself confused.... Series 2 takes a different fluid..

Texaco Multi-Gear 75w/90R GL5 or 75w/90 S5
Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic 75w/90R GL5

Are the 2 that Rover recommends.

It's dripping and it's the larger seal. And Mike I read post on the bumper you built, would it work on an '03 and do you have specs or pictures of the process?

While I'm at it I should change the front too. Are there specific amounts of oil or just fill it up?

Why not change it.. The fluid is cheap enough..... Fill it up.

All I can seem to find on parts site is the pinion seal. Where's the best place to get the other seal?

RTV is shorthand for Room Temerature Vulcanizing.
