Location of Fuel Rail / Schraeder Valve
Hi folks -
I'm trying to diagnose a minor problem:
In the mornings my Disco fires and catches right away, but seems to "stumble" slightly before comming to a full rev. Very recently I feel like there have been minor stumbles during driving and it seems like I am depressing the gas pedal more than normal to get to speed. I also pulled codes P1172 (too rich, both banks) and P1175 Lambda control adaption fault, minimum signal.
After a bunch of reading I'm suspecting leaky injector(s). So I'm trying to find the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail to check fuel pressure but am having no luck finding it. I have a copy of the RAVE CD, but it only shows a general location.
A few questions for the board:
1. Will the fuel rail Schraeder valve have a green cover like the EVAP valve? Is the EVAP valve the same?
2. What kind of gauge do I need to connect to the Schraeder valve? i.e. what do I tell my local parts store guys?
So lost, so frusturated. I'm trying to learn to work on this beast myself, but I'm ready to throw in the towel. I have an extended warranty, but I loathe the dealer so much.
Rig is a 2000 Disco II, 64k miles. I did the 60 service last November, new plugs and wires etc.
Thanks in advance for any help!
