I did the dumbest thing today.
My keys got locked in the truck today and I only have one set. (bought truck used so only got one set) I was unloading the back and set the keys down on the bumper, yes dumb move right there and took the stuff in the house. When I returned the wind had blew the back door closed and the keys got stuck right between the door and the bumper. When the door shut the lock button was pressed and remained pressed because of the dumb door. ARRRRRGGGHHHHH Has this every happened to anyone? Besides Ish? waiting for AAA man let you know how things turns out. I can only laugh at myself. ![]() |

If you have a problem that AAA says will cost alot you might want to contact your local Rover dealer with a copy of your registration and have them get the key code number from Rover, then a lock smith can cut a new key.

A buddy of mine locked his keys in his DII, if you can use something to pull away the top of one of the front door frames, then use something long and skinny to push the unlock button. Didn't take us long to do, although we were using an air bladder, and some kind of tool from a police officers door lock kit.

I hope i'm wrong but if it's "superlocked" i don't think the old "slim jim" will work....hope i'm wrong!!!! can you not flex the rear door enough to push the unlock button???
I'm with Mike on this one...dealer for a cut key...but if the ownership is in the truck.....good luck, Dean |

I had the dealership cut me a valet key for $22 because they wanted $200 for a coded key. F that! Plus, they're big and ugly! Does anyone make a key that will remotely unlock my truck, but isn't big, gaudy, and ugly? |

Also remember that once in superlock mode....not only can no one get into the truck....no one can "GET OUT". You cannot open the doors from outside or inside so don't so this unless there is no one in the truck!!! o/k maybe if your pissed at your spouce and want to make them madder...lol...just kidding...lol...

Sorry for the late response but before AAA showed up my daughter climbed through the sunroof and yes you are correct, when the super lock is on no one can get out (or they say). You actually CAN but you will be setting off the alarm when you do. But because the lock button was being pressed by the back door anyway it was useless but to get out during superlock mode, you can hold the lock up while pulling on the door handle and in most cases you will be able to get out.

My local rover dealer is an hour away. Luckily I didn't need to do that. But thanks. ![]() |
