I have some OEM LR locking wheel nuts but they're the wrong ones. The code on these is either:
a. STC 8843AA or b. NK5 C57752 I bought them on eBay without knowing what I wanted and they're too big although made for a Disco - maybe 18" wheels??? Does anybody know whice ones I need for a 2003 Disco S? When I know what I need, I'll offer these for sale or swap. Thanks, Jason. |

RTC9533 are the DI locking lugs (set of 5) and they run about $50 new, that is the new supercession number for the STC 8843AA which is also for a DI.
For the DII, it's entirely different. People still use locking lug nuts?

I don't know if locking lug nuts are necessary or not. My thinking was that the 4 road wheels are probably safe, but the rear wheel makes an easy to remove hundred bucks for somebody with the inclination. Not really a problem on my driveway, but more of a concern at say an airport car park. I'm probably being paranoid, but would rather be safe than sorry. $50 is very reasonable. Is it a similar price for the D2 ones? Thanks, Jason. |

Part numbers change- sometimes just a supplier change or a revision, no biggie. Most part numbers supercede at some point.
If you just want to protect the spare- go get a cable type bike lock and lock it to the rear carrier. Get a combo type and write the combo on the inside of the glove compartment lid or something.
