I just got new land rover letters for my hood, (the ones on it are all chipped up) just wondering if anyone could tell me how to get the old ones off, and if you just rip them off what to use to remove any adhesive that may come off the old letters when their removed. Thanks. Chris

I heated mine with a blow dryer than gently slid a razor blade under the edge and got it lifted. I then gently peeled it off.

Funny you ask since I just finished redoing the hood off of my parts truck to install on my Rover.

My decal wasn't factory obviously but mine was 4 bucks lol and I'm a cheap bastard

Mine are raised plastic with a type of spongey adhesive, do you think your technique would work the same ?

I would think so but with the foam adhesive you might be able to us a plastic body putty scraper instead of a razor blade...

I would think WD40 would help take the spongy sticker off. But how the heck does the raised plastic Land rover badge become chipped up !

They appear to have been black and then painted a kind of dark grayish color and that's what has worn off more than chipped off.

hair dryer and a piece of dental floss. just add some heat, and slide the floss (or fishing line) behind it. it works most of thetime when debadging a car.

Thanks for all the advice. I used a heat gun and some 3M adhesive remover and worked like a dream. The new letters look awesome! Thanks again, Chris 2004 Disco II SE7
