Longevity of Discovery II 4.0 engines - Land Rovers Only

I'm not sure if this topic has been posted before but how many miles can an average Disco II get out of an 4.0? I know it depends on how well it has been maintained but what would a ballpark figure be.

Other then needing a set of head gaskets, there is no reason you can't get 200,000 plus out of one. I know a number of people in the mid 200,000's.

Im at 138k+ with below average maintenance. I have step up my game since 120k. but it has no sign of slowing down.

I'm close to 150,000 and it seems to be pushing strong.

One of the biggest things to remember. If it starts to over-heat DONT take your chances on going just 1 more mile to get to that gas station. SHUT IT OFF.
