Alright im about ready to give up and sell it. i love it but it keeps breaking. i just re-placed a engine coolant recirculation hose, the one behind the a/c comp. so it turns out it wasnt my water pump. now it idles really low my check engine light has been on because of o2 sensors an cat, because i never get around to fixing those due to larger problems that keep popping up. i also have a abs sensor out and the a/c dosent work. but not the engine if i put it in nuetral the rpm goes down to 0 basically, or a little above the firs mark( the one the needle rest on when the vehicle is off). also when i stop at a light it goes down to the second mark. it dosent have the get up an got that it used to. could it be a mass airflow sensor?

Loss of power could be clogged fuel filter, but that shouldn't drop rpms.
How is it running normally? Any missing, jerking, etc.? When the idle drops does it run rough? Have Autozone run a check for codes. I don't think an O2 sensor would cause rpms to drop. |

give me all codes and the fuel pressure, its a bitch but you can get it from the top or underneath off the tank.
how about cleaning up the butterfly valve and the idle air control valve, its possible its a bit gummed up and not opening fully.

turns out there was alot of coolant in the drain pan. so now im flushing the engine and hoping there is no blown head gasket. if there is a blown head gasket than my 2001 discovery 2 is up for sale or is being parted out.

Na, just pull the engine and fix it. Actually you probably don't even have to pull the engine. |
