Im in some deep water right now. I got my car isnpected by a "certified" inspector. They test comes back and it says I have 5 codes. They where problems with the ABS and MAF sensor. So i replaced my MAF with a used one I got from our local Land Rover shop. Then I ask my buddy to borrow his little code reader to see if that used sensor took some codes away. Instead I got these codes instead!
Thats what the code reader told me. Oh man I was pissed! Then looking up on forums and talking to other people, we have came to a conclusion that I need brand new coils and a new MAF. We found them on roversnorth.com. Part numbers are:
Model# RND310
Model# RNE054
I wanted to see you guys thoughts on this. Should a new MAF and new coils fix it? Should I use roversnorth coils for $200+? Or genuine land rover coils for $600+? Or is there more parts I need? Please reply back, thanks.
they are - apart from the first one - missfire or fuel trim codes. Put in a new MAF, a genuine new MAF from bosch. Until you actually fix the MAF you will get misfire and fuel trim codes.

You are guessing and jumping the gun.
When was this engine last tuned along with new 8 mm silicone wires, also what octane gas are you burning?
By the way, how many miles on the engine?
So do not buy a coil or MAF till you answer my questions.

you are misfiring on 1,3,4,5,6 and 8. those cover both coils, Unless you can feel and hear the misfire (which you dont say you can?) its probably a misfire due to incorrect air to fuel mixture caused by a bad MAF. I have never heard of both coil packs going out at the same time and giving multiple misfires, especially not suddenly unless you disturbed a lot of wires
I wouldnt replace the coil packs until you get the codes cleared and a new MAF or MAF insert into the system. then if the misfires persist check for running vacuum and air leaks and then fuel delivery pressure. After that check the resistance on the wires and if needed replace the wires. Coil packs going out is actually fairly unusual, even though people replace them first they generally find the problem is something else.
cheers

Once I get a new MAf, if I need one, that sounds like a plan. And Mike I sent you my number.
