HEYY guys. ok '03 disco.. yadi ya. What are the advantages for Sport and manual mode? When should you use them and in what situations. PLEASe because i am clueless.

Sports mode shifts up later and hence holds a gear for longer and get up to your target speed faster.
Manual can engaged in the low center transfer mode, you can use this to hold gear in slippy conditions therefore adding stability, it can also be used to start off in a higher gear than 1st to reduce toque to the wheels. This can be handy in slippy conditions. You can also use it to hold a gear going down hill for added engine breaking.

As Salty says...Sport allows the computer to bring the shift point up higher in the RPM range....were as manual is just that, makes you manualy shift from gear to gear but will not shift out of the selected gear.
