HDC works really great if you follow a couple of steps. You should be in low range and depending on what gear your transmission is in will depend on how much stopping power you will get. In 4th. gear it has a slowing effect, in 1st. gear it will only allow you to crawl.
Try it next time you are out wheeling. Mike |

So restating, I still like HDC and it is not designed for real technical driving, just the typical hills, mud and snow. Mike |

yep, way too fast on the DII's. on the LR3 they slowed HDC down by about half i believe, much better feeling. think Discos are set about 5mph and LR3 is around 2mph? was actually curious if there was a way to reprogram the computer for a slower descent?

Surely HDC is computer controlled so you should be able to get it altered by a garage with a diagnostics machine. Not sure about this but it makes sense to me!

I think the key is what kind of terrain you are going down. If you are going down something you have to navigate through then HDC in my opinion is not the way to go. For a steep pretty straight incline and you want to show off to your buddies then HDC is the way to go lol.

I used the HDC on lo-1st if it was just a straight down...
if it's a steep descent with rocks and stuff to go through...I use the brakes... is that the right thing to do?
