I recently finished changing my head gaskets and thought I would post a picture of my rocker covers and magnecors. I also went with the Bosch Fusion plugs.
Let me know what you think, I was afraid it would be too white trash, but I think it's just right. Chris |

Looks good.
Did you have the fuel rail unbolted/off for some reason? That little green wire that's not connected (in the upper left corner of the pic) looks like the one that goes on one of the mounting screws for the fuel rail. Don't forget to reconnect. Peace.

Dan- I left the fuel rail on, I didn't see any point in removing it. I did remove the bolts when I was trying to attatch something, can't remember what, but I ended up getting it without removing the rail and the bolts went back in. The green ground wire was for the ignition coil, one on each side.
Mike- I'll give an update on the Fusions in the near future, I can definately feel a increase in takeoff acceleration. Whether that's from wires, plugs, head/valve job or everything, not sure? |

I have been hearing bad things about messing with the stock wires and plug setup. I was told that using magnecores and different plugs could dammage/overwork/mess-up the coilpack. I was also told by someone who seems to know their stuff that every time he changes wires on a DII (not other trucks) with anything but the expensive factory ones (plugs too) that it throws a slew of engine fault codes that appeared to be meaningless. He said he thought it might be related to a difference in plug firing temp. He changed the wires and plugs to stock, and everything was fine again. This sounds wierd
Has anyone had any problems at all? engine lights, faults, coil pack go bad, anything? I want to use magnecores and the Bosch Irridium, double titantium, flux capacitor, go 1000 mph type plugs. (per RoverMike) thanks |

With nearly 50,000 miles on my 99 D2 I haven't had one misfire using the 8mm Magnacor wires and Bosh Platium Plus 4's.
Over the last couple of years, I have had alot of people go to this combination and only had one complaint, turned out he cracked a plug putting them in, replaced it and loves the extra low end power. The wires are only in the mid $72 range and Bosh gives a money back guarantee, don't see how you can go wrong. Mike |

Just so you know, I'm contemplating getting a set of magnecors after I heard the price for the factory ones, over $200. See my thread "temp sensitive MIL", as my Disco ll is actually throwing 3 codes for engine misfiring. I haven't changed the wires in over 120k miles.

Carlos,
Call my friend Tony from the LRR forum, tell him I suggested you get in touch with him, he has the wires for the mid $74 range. 650-365-4145 Good luck, Mike |
