Default Motion / pressure sensors

Wondering if anyone knows how to shut off the alarm for my Disco. Actually, I just want to shut off part of the alarm.

My disco has a couple of interior sensors (up on the headliner) that look like motion sensors. I think they might be pressure sensors. Problem is, when I lock the car with the windows cracked open, the wind (pressure change?) sets off the alarm. Also, I can't lock my dog in the car when I have to run into the store or something (she sets off the alarm). Any way to disable?

thanks

Default Alarm Sensors

I run into these sensors while replacing the Headliner Material for the Landrover dealerships, I have been told over the years that many of the dealerships technicians have just disconnected the wire behind the sensors because of alarm issues like yours.

"I’m not a Landrover owner" - "nor am I a master technician" , But I have 15 years at Headliner & Sunroof repair on these models and here many different angles to why things work and don’t work.

Remove the sensor from the panel and disconnect the wires test your unit and see if that might re-solve your problem.

HL Express:

Not a bad idea
that might be a solution for me.
I wasn't sure if disconnecting those sensors screw up the whole system. If not, then I'm golden!!!

Johnnybob:

No they don't all have it, my buddy's '01 doesn't
I think I have an upgraded security system or something.
It's a pain in the neck!

check your owner's manual. if you activate the alarm using the key in the drivers door intead of using the remote, the interior motion detetctor will NOT activate.

My driver's door lock mechanism is disconnected. The only way for me to lock/unlock is witht he remote.

I need to fix that!

thanks for that info though!

I'm really interested in these motion sensors.. I was looking at the owners manual and it doesn't even mention motion sensors... My truck is a 2003 SE7... Loaded with pretty much everything!

Thanks!
