Default My Disco ll's A/C is soaking the carpet

Hi everyone:
I just wanted to know if any of you have had this problem before. I recently moved from MI to North carolina, and since I use the A/C more frequently here, the pass area seems to seep water to the carpet. Is there a clogged line or somerthing I should look for? if so where is it? The Disco does it more when the temp. is around 98F outside. The A/C works flawlessly though. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Carlos

Drain plugs may be clogged.

These little rubber protrusions are located under the vehicle on either side of the tranny.

Usually, just reaching up and squeezing them is enough to let the water drain out.

Careful around a hot exhaust. When I did mine, the water drained out, hit the hot exhaust pipe then dripped down and burned my arm.

You have a common problem that hits lots of vehicles.Your truck has 2 drain pipes that go thru the flow and drain out, one on each side of your transmission. Crawl under the truck with a flash light and search the bottom of the floor area above the trannylooking for 2 rubber nipples, drains, When you see the one that is not flowing, reach up and give her, it, a pinch. If that doesn't work try sticking a wire in and wiggle it.

I just had this problem. Quite a bit of water accumulated in the carpets on passenger side in the front and I didn't notice it right away because I have rubber floor mats covering the carpets. I did notice it when I stopped for gas and saw water draining from the doors when I went to that side to fill up.

Those nipples are really high up under the floor. If you don't intend to drive off road in water or muck that deep just pull them off. The slits in them are small and can clog by picking up dust. This is what the service folks at my dealer said that they do...once you come in with a soaked carpet. (And...If you wont be fording deep streams.)

Now I am checking the garage floor under the truck every night. Properly draining AC should leave 1 or 2 small puddles under the tranny area. Clogged drains will have puddles under the door frames behind front wheels.

Yes, it is a design flaw that I had in both my Discos
Is the truck still under warranty????

If it is, take it to the friggen dealer, tell him your concerned about moldy carpets....let them take the whole thing apart and put in new carpets

Ish the," friggen dealer", will open up the drains but they won't replace the carpet. They might even help you dry it out. Ish you out to work on your attitude it services no purpose on this web site.
Carlos why not just crawl under and take care of it yourself, it is a 5 minute job, save you alot of frustration.

Default Nipples pinched!!!

I did it yesterday afternoon. It drained water from both sides, so both sides had been clogged. I had to tear down the passenger side under-dash cover, because I took-off the whole hose by accident and had to put everything back. I almost dehydrated under the truck with a full-sun heat and 98F outside. The sun falls down here about 8:45 and it's still pretty hot by that time. Will do the wash/wax this weekend though.

If you get underneath the truck by the side, look at where the tranmission hump is about to get flat going towards the door of your truck. You will see some heat shields/pads that look like aluminumn foil towards the side of the truck. At the top part of those pads you should be able to see them, one on each side. they are kind of hard to find, but i was looking them towards the middle of the transmission hump.
