Default Is my front shaft getting ready to crap out?

I know what you are going to say Disco Mike; "if you haven't changed your front shaft your'e wrong"

But before they go, do they start vibrating? My 2000 disco with 180k just started in the last week with a high frequency vibration. Starts at about 55 up through 65. I just did a tranny service about a month ago, (fluid did not look or smell bad) added a quart of lucas tranny fluid and filter with the change, tires (goodyear prograde silent armor) only have about 12k miles, roto flex changed about 6 months ago. The vibration is even present when shifted into neutral at speed.

Get it checked out! That's how mine behaved as it was going out.

I rebuilt mine last week, the vibration isn't as strong as before but still there. Sure makes me feel more trusting my truck, not afraid it might poke Miss Tranny!

It's a D2 03 SE7

If you haven't replaced the original shaft and there is only one grease fitting , then you should replace it so all 3 u-joints can be greased.
Normally if there is a shake from the shaft it will show up at 30 and above.
So for an inspection, just see how many grease fitting your have, you don't want to replace your tranny just because the shaft feels OK.

here's the culprit!! I did not think it would be bad, as I replaced it less than a year ago. Luckily I had a spare lying around. Guess I will get another spare. But have already started shopping around for a drive shaft. Any recommendations on a shaft??
