Default My problems:

hello everyone.

so i got my disco in january. 02 disco 2 sd7 w/ around 70k miles. anyway. i loved it. still love it. best thing in the world. but i'm having some issues i was wondering if you guys could help me out with.

i just had the power steering pump replaced, along with u-joints and a window/regular/motor and an A/C issue fixed. when i got my disco back i found a new problem. it seems to rumble as i accelerate. i'm not sure what it is. it never seems to shift past 2nd-3rd and if it does shift the RPMs dont drop like they should. a friend suggested a MAF problem and i would much rather that be the problem than there be a transmission problem of some kind. any help on that matter would be appreciated.

also. my cruise control no longer engages. i've checked fuses but that's about my limited knowlege on those systems.

finally. my back door will not unlock via remote. i have to get in the back seat and reach back to pull the door handle to unlock it. anyone else have this one? happened after a trip to a mud hole.

Alright guys i really appreciate all the help you can give me.

Thanks,
Ross

Clock no idea mines old and analog lol.

As far as shifting past 4th gear that's all the gears you have. If you had recent u joint work done check to make sure the bolts on the Drive shaft aren't loose. Other than that check your bushings etc on the front end.

Cruise is probably a vac leak check the hoses that connect to the cruise vac ball from end to end and make sure they are in good shape and connected.

Back door will need the interior panel pulled and the linkages cleaned and lubed and you should be good to go. Unless of course the acutator isn't working then it may need replaced.

With regards to the clock, you should be able to use a paper clip or a pen tip. and press the little holes under the clock display.

universal clock? huh?

bumping this. i still need help with the rumbling. my mechanic says its a problem with the front end...he's telling me i need to find a replacement front drive shaft. Said he tried removing the front and just using the rear but the truck wont even move like that. he's a friend and a good guy. professional mechanic and all, but not a land rover specialist. Does this sound like a possibility?
