So i took it to the shit heads at Land Rover Portland (the most unorganized and incompetent group I've yet to encounter at a high end dealership) and $166 they told me that my compressor was bad. When i walked in and told them what i wanted done, i explained that i knew the pump was bad, and i only wanted the back end calibrated.
5 hours later, i get a call telling me they did a diagnostic. they found that the pump was bad, and if i wanted to them it replaced at $981.00. i told them no, and that i would be in shortly to pick it up. Apparently they decided that the calibration would have been a waste of time, and instead the fucktards would charge me for what i already told them. They also said the pump replacement was a massive undertaking, and would be around 2 hours to complete. I pulled it out in under 15 minutes, and heres what i found: Apparently the compressor box was supposed to have a lid... who would have known? ![]() So i got everything disconnected, and the pump had 0 resistance. therefore i took it apart. See anything wrong? ![]() follow the knife. there should be a spring wrapped around that stud, which keeps the brushes tight, as the other side shows. The pump was so full of water from, what i assume, the years of it driving while being beaten by the elements. When i turned it upside down, the air intake dripped ![]() And in case you want to know what the actual pump setup looks like: ![]() And, how did i get it to sit nice until the new pump arrives you ask? Well, i used my home air compressor (which i typically use to inflate tires and run impact wrenches) with a rubber tipped spray nozzle. I put the SLS box back in, as shown below, attached the micro line (left side to the left solenoid, right side to the right solenoid, attached the electronics to each, then plugged the pump in as well. I started the car up, and hit the "raise suspension" button, then squirted air into the middle hole between the 2 solenoids. you could hear the air bags begin to inflate, and the body began to lift. ![]() As a precaution, i unplugged all electronics, and left the air in the bags, partially inflated. I drove it last night, and the right was amazing, and the bags are still holding air now. I deem my African American engineering a success! |

You can buy a guaranteed used pump assembly from, Roverland Parts
for under $300, and it is not that big a deal to replace. Mike |

I will sell you mine pretty cheap!
I am pretty sure it works perfectly. I swapped to coils If you pay for shipping, I will ship it to you. You can take it apart, clean it up, install it, and if it works to your satisfaction, pay me for it! feel free to shoot me a price on what you think is fair.
