Default Need Help with Discovery Purchase

I am thinking about purchasing a 2001 Discovery SE with about 75,000 miles and was looking for some advice and wondering the things I need to look for in making this purchase. Thanks for your help.

What are they asking for it, what is your past 4 wheel experience, what are you planning to do with it?

They are asking $9580 for it. My friend has one and I drove and really like the way it felt. I'm not purchasing it for off road use if that's what you wanted to know.

Check this thread to get started.
buying used check list - Land Rover Repair Forums - LRRForums.com

Thats a pretty fair price, but now a days the price for SUVs are dropping fast...so you could probably get better (especially since this is a premium gas only vehicle...)

Does it have service records? Any gasket changes? Any oil leaking (probably some...but how much? Drops on the driveway, etc). Look for oil around the engine block, drive it hard and see how she heats up. Things to start with. There's lots to look for on a rover purchase, but they can be great trucks if taken care of!

That's great to know. My plan is definitely to negotiate that down. My boy has one and I really like them, so I'm going to take my chance with one of them.
