New Disco II Owner Questions

Hey all I have just purchased a 2001 disco II with 50K on the clock. I have about 7 months warranty left on the truck and I am wondering about known problems that I should be aware of and what I should address while the warrany ids still good.

Where are you - US, UK, Aus? Have you checked the vehicle's history to see what work has already been done?

Thanks for the response .. I am in Canada and there are no dealer records that I can find...

Truck is se5 with 50K on the clock...

Check with a LR Center if you can obtain an extended warranty. In the States you can do this after jumping through a few hoops. Good Luck.

I just had my 2000 Disco's 60K Inspection by the Land Rover Dealer. My warranty will end at 62K, so I had the Disco gone over with a fine tooth comb. They replaced the rear and front-left windshield motors, the found a very small crack in the exhaust manifold and replaced it for me, and the found a leak in the transfer case and replaced that. Not sure if that was of use to you, but that was what was broken on mine. In addition there was a recall on 99 Disco's engine pulleys, mine is a 2000 so I asked and they did replace the pulleys. They were making a lot of noise.

My Disco sounds great, better than new. In addition there was a recall on my 2000 for the ACE Suspension and ABS...
