Default New Problem ABS, Traction control, Hill Descent Light came on

This morning on my way to work I went over a speed bump at about 2 mph and my disco starting beeping and my ABS, Traction control (TC), and Hill descent lights all came on. Obviously this means that non of these features are now active and are having problems. What is the first thing I should check when I get home tonight? The ironic thing about this is I just have my disco serviced for its 45k service last Friday so they obviously missed something. Thanks for the help.

No, they probably didn't miss anything, sometimes this happens and it may reset it self during the next couple of restarts. If not, that doesn't mean the ABS isn't working, it just means it picked up a momentary fault and stored a code. Mine went off 6 months ago and I finally had the system scanned and cleared the codes, during the time the lights were on my ABS worked fine.
So, it is not a saftey issue and you should get it back to the dealer while it is under warranty just in case you shock a senser loose.
Good luck,
Mike

I'm going to check it out when I get home tonight. And if I can't find anything wrong I will contact the dealer and get it in there. I'll do some break test when I get home tonight to see if my ABS is still working properly. Thanks for the updates. So far I've hard its either the sensors or maybe the shuttle valve or possibly even bad rotors. But I should feel the vibration in my brake pedal if my rotors are bad though right?

You can tell pretty easily if the ABS is working, even if it is, get the dealer to check for codes, this way, if it happens again and you have a record of it happening at the dealer, you can get it fixed while under warranty.

The easiest way is not very scientific but it works.
Get on a nice quiet road, with no one behind you and get on the brakes hard at around 35 or so. If the ABS is working, you will feel your barke pedal pulsate as the ABS activates. Do it hard enough to try and lock up the tires.

You can also usually tell if you are going over and speed bump and break while your on top your ABS will freak out.

Well after work got in the disco and started her up and all was fine no lights nothing. Drove about 18 miles headed home and bamo (beep beep) lights come on again. Stop at the gas station, turn it off, go in get some cokes , come back out start her up again and lights gone no problem. I bet good money on the way to work in the morning at about the same spot it will beep and light up like a Christmas tree again. The fuse looks good must be either the ABS mod, or the sensors going bad. I'm going to call Land Rover Nashville tomorrow and make an appointment. I'll let you guys know what they find.

I'll bet money, you have a loose or dirty speed sensor.
Let us know how it turns out.

I've been looking at my workshop manual and am I right by saying you have to remove the hub to check out the sensors? Is this an easy fix?

Let the dealer run his test book and they can tell you what is wrong without tearing anything apart.

And the winner is.........
a faulty shuttle valve. Replaced it bled the system and they claim its as good as new. I'm going to beat it up a little bit this weekend to see if all is well. Again thanks for the help. This is the best Forum on the web in my opinion. You guys rock!
