I searched the forums and didn't see this discussion anywhere -
I am about to replace my third steering box in about 40k miles. First two times were done by the dealer, but my warranty is out, so it looks like this time I will be doing the work.My question is - I saw on one parts website that the seal kit will fix most leaking SB's. $120 vs $800? Interested in everyone's thoughts, especially yours DiscoMike. |

A few drips overnight I would guess. The Seal kit was listed on British Pacific's website, page 8 of their PDF catalog. I am going to try the Lucas first, but I don't want to end up like the first time with a burnt pump as well as the box leaking.

Dealer says box - I will try the Lucas as soon as I get it back from the dealer. If that doesn't work, I will buy the seal kit and give it a shot....looks like about 30 seals or so. I wonder if I can find all of them at my local autoparts....hmmmm...to be continued....
