Newby...looking for accessories - Land Rovers Only

Long time 4x'r having Jeep's, Ford's, Nissan's, Toyota's etc. Just got rid of my Jeep Cherokee and picked up an "02" Discovery. Really digging on the rig. Handles great, drives nice...bummer on the gas though. Wow! 12-13? Nawice!
Obviously I will have to find my way around the site to see whats available.
First out of the gate, I have to get a roof cargo cage.
Anyone have one looking to get rid of? If not, Yakima, or go through another vendor? Definetly will check out Rhino. Any tips for best vendors?
Can't wait to get this thing off road to see the capabilities.

Congrats!!
With a Disco, I recommend a full length rack. Check out the Safety Devices, Northwest Parts, or Hannibal. I love the fact that I can sleep on the top, it's much more comfortable than the ground.

Look for a used Safety Devices rack- they are WAY better than the NWP copies. Hard to find, but they pop up now and then...

Cheapest way to get a rack- (this is advice that works so well, I rarely share it)

Cruise through an area with lots of used car lots. When you spot a Disco with a Safety Devices rack, approach the dealer and explain.
"People never want them there fancypants racks because the truck won't fit in the garage with it and they make tons of noise. You'd be able to sell it faster without it. I'll give you $300 cash for it right now, no receipt, off the record... just need it for work 'cause I gotta strap stuff on the roof"

What they hear- $300 cash. Disco sells faster without wind noise and garage fitment problems. win/win. Works every time!

Thanks for the relpies. I checked out Saferty D'd site and saw nothing on the cargo racks. But, I will keep looking. I will use this buggy for everyday use, but plan a few trips soon. Definetly in spring, a trip to Moab. I'm big on biking and been there twice for that. This time, I'd like to try some 4xing. There are some killer places to test this rig.
I need a cargo for camping gear, bikes, and being by the ocean (and surf) need a way to put the plank on the roof.
Tires are pretty new on the rig, so I won't change until I see cord. ;o) Probably put some BF AT's or Muds on. They always treated me well on the other rigs. No plans on a lift. The thought of getting 8mpg freaks me out! I already have a 66 Dodge Charger that drinks fuel like I drink beer! No need for another 8mpg vehicle.

BTW, do you guys know of a site I can check my build codes? Ya know, punch in my VIN and it will let me know what came with my Disco? Want to see about gears and tranny.

For the build information, go by a dealer sometime with your registration in hand, ask them to run your vin for recalls and a radio code. The print out they get back from the factory will show the radio code which is great to have and give the build info.
Enjoy your new truck. Have you looked into joining the SCLR Land Rover club, there is also a Social Rovers group on Yahoo that consits of mainly people in your area.

Did a search for SCLR but no luck. That's what I need. Is to hook up with some locals to do some driving.

There are many spots down there, but I am not the one to ask. Check with some of the locals or SCLR.

Mike said it.Go for the nearest dealer, make and appointment, and have it checked for recalls.You might spend a good part of a day, but after all, they will replace or put free stuff on your Disco.
