I am getting the ff: codes. Help pls in making sense as to what could be wrong. Could not detect, smell, or feel anything awry but getting the ff: codes:
P0174 Generic System Too Lean (Bank 2) P0171 Generic System Too Lean (Bank 1) P0733 Generic Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio P0734 Generic Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio P1171 Land Rover System Too lean, Bank A & Bank B P1174 Land Rover Lambda control adaption fault bank 2.Last occurrence - maximum signal My indy Rover mechanic insists that these are just quirks of the Rover. I would like to believe him, but just want to run this by y'all. The codes all look related to each other. I am not feeling any mis-shifts or sudden shifts on the tranny. Recent (last week) work done on the Disco II were: water pump, both valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gasket, radiator flush and fill (mechanic insisted on going back to the green as opposed to the pink), new ignition wire set. |

The MAF sensor is bad.
Dear god, your not the only customer that I have heard get some really stupid answer from an indie tech. Dude run from the guy why you have the chance. He has no idea how to fix any car at that point if he doesnt know OBD codes and have the info to fix them Jeez you guys really need to do some research into local shops before you send your car to them. |

I agree, the mechanic is a screw up.
First demand that he do a complet coolant flush and get the green out, your engine is designed for the pink GM type coolant. As for your codes, you do have a Maf failing for sure which is indicated by the lean run and the tranny shifting problems. Buy one on line from Rover Connection, alot cheaper the dealer ship. Yhey are very easy to replace, 5 minutes, then go get your codes read and cleared, should be fine at that point. Mike |

oh by the way, by yourself some geniune pink coolant called dexcool that comes in Chevy, get a pair of pliers and take off the small coolant line off the top of hte radiator while the vehicle is running and let it drain into a bucket and meanwhile pour the pink into it.
ten minutes to do a coolant flush and you dont even get dirty. |
