I just recently picked up a oem factory pushbar/ grill guard to put on my 2003 disco, my question is how do these install? The push bar has two big bolts coming out of it but no spot in the bumper to put them? do I need to put holes in my bumper? any help would be appreciated, thanks...

A bar? not quite sure what an a bar is. The one I have is kinda molded rubber its factory, has land rover all over it. even a part number, but I can not seem to locate any information for installation anywhere, the push bar covers the entire grill along with the lights, there are to big screws that go into the bumper and clips that clip to the to screws on the radiator and screw on the bottom of the headlights, the clips match up everywhere except for the bolts which there is no spot in the bumper, so my question kinda is do I need to drill holes in the bumper to install this, is there going to be something back there to put the screws into?

My bar is factory with factory light tabs. It even says "DISCOVERY" Its metal, with a plastic/rubber coating. It does not protect on the sides just the middle. It is also made from tube. If this is what you have ill take a look and let you know how it connects on.

here a couple pictures of the grill guard/push bar that I'am trying to install. It has two long bolts as pictured w/ sleeves that go through one of the holes as pictured as well, then there are two clips both on bottom of grill guard and the sides that just attach to the radiator screws and underneath the bottom of the headlights some how. I just don't know how the screws attach, there is no hole in the bumper, I think i have to drill a hole, put if I drill I want to make sure that there is something back there to put the the screws into some I'm not cruising around with a couple of nice holes in the bumper and no brush bar on there.
I' am trying to install this onto a 2003 discovery S. any suggestions or advice is welcome. thanks. |

That's a polyurethane Brushbar or the 2003-2004 DII only, been looking for one of those (on the cheap). That can't be all the monting hardware. That must be really light and a good place ot mount driving lights. Hate to say it but it looks like some drilling is required.

Perhaps you should call Rover Connection. They are the only ones I know of that sell the Poly Urethane Brush Bar. They sell the mounting hardware as well so if you're missing something they would be able to tell you and possibly give you some general instructions about how it attaches to the vheicle.

Hi Witzel,
I've just had a look at the rave CD and it gives you the fitting instructions in a picture diagram format. If you don’t have a copy you can down it free from this website When you’ve down loaded the file you will have burn it on to a CD your self and write is as an image file. You will then have the exact same maintenance CD the dealers use. The Discovery 2 is the rave CD 1 the 3rd down the list. http://green-oval.com/joomla/index.p...d=13&Itemid=29 Hope this helps Last edited by discofacelift : 11-04-2007 at 05:19 PM. |
