Default OEM tires

I placed this post in the tire forum as well, but it does not look to be getting enough activity.

I need to replace the OEM Goodyears on my 2004 Disco. I do a little off roading but fairly tame (Goodyears were sufficient and A/T's would be too much). I need low road noise 255-55-18's with a little more aggressive tread than the Goodyears while maintaining the H speed rating.

I have been a Michellin fan in the past. The tire dealers are throwing Toyos Falkans and all kinds of things at me. Things that I am not familiar with.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions that you might have.

Thanks a bunch!

Falken tyres suck. Real popular with the people who just want cheap tyres but they are garbage. Toyos are ok- haven't had them in years though... several of their models score very low in wet traction.
Michelin is great stuff. I've seen Discos on stock Michelins (my G4 included) do some very impressive offroad obstacles. Snow traction is better on the Michelins than either my BFG AT's or any MT.
Pricey, but good.

I would go for Michelin or Pirelli Scorpion ones.Michelin had a great model(4 X 4 XPC), but I've read somewhere that they were discontinued. My Disco is running on them and they are great.

Hey All, Thanks for the help. I did end up going with the Nitto Terra Grappler. My tire guy agreed with the majority of posts that that tire would be best for what I was looking to accomplish.

Thanks a bunch!
