Got my OEM trailer harness..pricy but very nice kit!!! Anyone know what the extra 3 wires that are free would be used for??? These wires are next to the the connector that hooks up to the connection on the truck...they go to the main trailer harness hook up....
thanks, Dean |

You'd only use them if you were going to install an electric brake controll unit for trailer equiped with elec. brakes. I'm pretty sure you still would need the control unit, however. Or- (I'm guessing here that the others ARE constant and charge feeds) That you'd use them if you have a trailer that has a 12v system that would need to be charged or run off your Disco. Many larger cargo trailers and campers would need this. You prob don't need them, but its actually very nice to know that you have them that close to the hitch should the situation ever call for them. So, if you're not using them just make sure they not exposed ends so they don't ground out and leave them there. |
