Default Oil Filters?

1999 Disco Ii

Can Anyone Tell Me The Difference Between The Socalled Long Oil Filter And The Short Oil Filter.

Which One Do I Need For My Disco Ii

A Fram PH8a (or equivelent)will fit on your engine. Its the same diameter and thread size, but about 2" longer. This gives you more filter area, and a little more oil capacity. If you go with a different filter, make sure you get one with a chech valve (rubber flap in the filter) to prevent drain back when the engine is not running.

You might want to upgrade to a 3001 K&N oil filter which has better filter media, oil will last longer and give you better engine protection.
