Default Oil Leak

So, after reading alot of the threads, I'm guessing an oil leak is pretty common with our lovely babys. Well.. how do I stop it??

I just changed the oil over the weekend, and right before changing it I noticed some oil leaking... nothing big at all.. not even a drop on the ground.

Now, after changing the oil and making sure everything was tight, there are oil marks on the ground....

I heard of head gaskets, valve something rathers...so what do I do??

And if I do need to replace, lets say a gasket or something major, would an extended warranty pay for it??

Thanks a bunch!!

John-Robert

John-Roger,
Do you have an extended warranty, if so and if your head gaskets are leaking they would most likely pay to replace them. Most warrantys however don't just replace the regular seals by them selves unless it is part of a repair envolving the replacement of a covered component.

HEy Mike!

I've got an extended warranty.. On Monday my truck will go into the shop.. but it seems like it is leaking everywhere!... There are spots all over the floor, and I park in pretty much the exact same spot on my driveway...

Extended warrantys for the most part will not cover just oil leaks with the exception of the head gaskets. Most policys are word suc=h that they will only replace a gasket as part of replacing a broken covered component.
Most of those leaks you are going to have to pay for.
