I don't remember if I posted this here or another forum, never got a straight answer. What could cause the HD and TC light to come on. The ABS light is not on but light up on start up. The dico did sit for about a month while I tried to figure out what was wrong ended upputting new engine in and the light where on before the new one was put in. Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thank you matt 1999 discoII |

Usually we hear about the triple threat which is the ABS, HD, TC lights all coming on at once. I actually just got mine fixed with that problem. My problem was a shuttle valve. Things to check for are the ABS sensors located on your rotors I believe though. I'm no expert though i'm sure Disco Mike would have an idea he seems very knowlegable about DII's. Let us know what you find out.

What were you doing when the lights came on, wheeling hard, hard stop, mountain driving?? Have you actually verified if the TC and HDC are not working at this time? My guess, without hearing more, would be you got the brakes hot and threw a strange code. What color and smell is your brake fluid? The only way to know for sure would be to have someone read the codes with a test book. You may actually find that codes were set and that after clearing all is well. Mike |
