Default PCV Valve Oil Seperator Removal

Hi,

In trying to narrow down problems I am having on a previous post, I was trying to remove the oil seperator on the passenger side valve cover and clean it out. I have a new seperator and got the hose off fine, but when I tried to remover the old one with some neddle nose, the tip cracked off leaving most of the seperator inside and only a small rounded tip, which I can't for the life of me get a grip on with the neddle nose.

Seems like it is having a hard time turning as well. I sprayed some WD in there to loosen it up a bit but still cant get it out. Dont want to pry it and bend the side of the tube it is in. Can the tube be removed and put back in after getting the seperator out?

Thanks,

John

mine did the same, pry it out will a nail or small knife, then snag it with you pliers, on mine only yhe top nipple piece broke off, the rest was solid. Hope that helps.

Thanks Maine,

That did it. Small knife blade on mini leatherman. Dug it in a bit and flexed it and it shot right out. Was worried about putting too much pressure on the tube, but seemed fine.

Should it be really tight getting the new one in? I thought I remembered it being not so snug.

Thanks for the hint,

John
