Default PLEASE HELP!! Seat Problem on 03 Disco

My son laid the seat all the back and now it will not return. It will move everyother way except back up, when I try to move it back up it blows a fuse.

You've got a short circuit some where...

I would remove the seat controls and check the wiring for the short... If all looks ok, check the motors under the seat for something jammed into the connectors...

The only motor I can find under the seat is the one that moves the seat front 2 back, I took the switch a part it looked fine. Also the seat will continue to move backwards it's laying flat like it should have stopped and didn't. Thanks for the help.

Default assuming....

It has never happened to me but.... I would assume that part of the incline function runs on gears. You might try buying a handful of 40 fuses and gently <keyword gently> help the seat up as you press the button. I have noticed that fuses blow in the seat when you press the button in a direction that the seat can't go anymore... Btw, it wouldn't surprise me for some else to chime in with, "Whatever you do, don't do that!"

All my passenger side seat functions work except moving the bottom part of the seat front to back. Any suggestions? Anyone know what fuse it is?

Default under the seat

It's a 40 fuse under the seat, usually red... That fuse controls all funtions of the seat, forward, back, up, down. I'm thinking it might be your switch. If the fuse blows you hear it if your radio is low and windows up. <Please someone ring in> you might be able to switch the seat control <passenger to driver> and see if the switch is the problem. GL!

brian4d might have something here sounds like the seat might have the motor in a bind and it is pulling to many amps and blowing the fuse, I would try to push/pull the seat back up.

well fuses are there for protection, if you have a short you risk really burning the wiring up, and really causing some problems, i might increase the fuse rating a bit to keep it from blowing, I would not go from a 5amp to a 25, but from a 20 to 25.

Is there a method to release the seat back?

Default Not that I can see

Toowild, I don't think their is a way to release the seat. Did you try to "help" the seat up? Gently pull on the seat as you press the button. Also, make SURE your seat warmer is turned off for that seat, that will pop a fuse in a second....
